Great-tailed Grackle

Death Valley National Park in Nov 2014
While we camped at Sunset Campground, this Great-tailed Grackle walked around the back of our campsite with his flock.

What I learned about the Great-tailed Grackle:

  • Eyes are always yellow
  • The Great-tailed Grackle is a polygamous bird.
  • Males are black, with iridescent purple on breast and back- the iridescent color reminds me of a European Starling
